Got a call from the DNC yesterday.
Asking for donations. So here is my obligatory oath of loyalty. I have voted Democratic in every election, unless there was a more progressive independent running. I have campaigned and donated money to elections as well...

Anyway, the person on the line reminded me of the urgency of the elections in 2010 and said, "you know with the Supreme Court decision, corporations are going to be able to donate freely during the elections." To which I said, "Yes that is travesty." She proceeded to say, "We need your donation more than ever because as you know that Republicans take major contributions from corporations, and Democrats do not." I swear I started laughing so hard I had to take a moment to gather my composure. She continued her speech, and I was like, "Oh you were serious?" I said, "Come on now, I will never vote Republican, can't stand them, but you can't tell me that Democrats haven't taken money from corporations." She seemed stunned and stammered a bit before telling me, "No, they don't". WOW...

I just said, "sorry I can't contribute to the DNC at this point. I will look at candidates who support what I find important and donate directly to them." Then hung up.

Anybody else getting this type of call?
