2. I'm Not Happy at All
But I did repeatedly warn people here on DU.

9. odd how it works...
I have no voice in changing anything to help or hurt Americans, yet I listened.

And those with the power to change things, seem to never listen.

Ego, self induced puffy, willful ignorance, and "I know better than you" type of attitudes is how we got here today.

Sadly, people as yourself, the canary in the coal mine (if you will), are looked upon as alarmists.

3. In what way would you be violating DU rules? There's no rule against saying, "Told you so."

4. Another interesting thing about your thread from 2004: 5 of the DUers responding
have been tombstoned. 5 out of 18 and 6 of those responses are yours. Seems high.
Too bad we don't have a DU graveyard where we can view all the tombstoned.

6. I did not know that Hypnotoad had been TSed
and KFC is not really posting here any more. A mere 1800 posts in six years. Not TSed, but not really active either.

On the plus side, Koko is nearing 60,000 posts. Then again, that is a milestone I think the Toad had already passed.

7. creativelcro, Tadah, Jen, Deja Q, YNGW, rman all show as being TSed.
So it is actually 6 former DUers. I wonder what the story was.

8. only the mods and admins know as well as the ones involved
Hypnotoad/Deja Q sometimes generated anger with his posts, especially among GLBTers, which is kinda ironic since he was one of them, at least he claimed to be.

Most of the others I do not recognize. Which is not surprising since Tadah, for example, was TSed before I even joined. I often researched for the trigger, the straw that broke the tombstone's back, especially for people I knew, and usually found a flame war. But it's also usually a third (or even a 6th) strike that does it. If there was zero tolerance there would only be three long time members of the board or maybe even only two since EarlG would probably be tombstoned by the other two. I think we all have probably crossed the line a few times.

In fact, has anybody even heard from EarlG? Or does he do the top ten?

it's not like you are Nostradamus

Many people were talking about the "Housing bubble" for a long time. For myself, I quit my full time job in October 2006 and started working just part time. I wasn't sure if making more money and saving it were wise moves because it seemed to me that the way Bush was running things that the whole banking system might collapse and wipe out my savings.

But many on DU are periodically predicting that the world is gonna end and plunge us all into desperate poverty, or that this, in fact, has already happened.

11. Nah, I was in heavy debt at the time
However, I did use that period to get rid of that debt, and I compiled a nice safety cushion which is sorely needed today, as I've been under/unemployed for three years now.
