The YR's appear to have created a fake "Crash the TEA Party" Page and tried to pin it on the Democrats. This is the real, not-gay, not-pretending-to-be-Democrats page for Young* Republicans. Other things Young Republicans are famous for: electing a 40 year old facebook racist, Audra Shay, rather than an actual young person named Rachel Hoff, because somebody whispered that Hoff liked to touch privates with other ladies. *Which translates to "Not as old as the rest of them."

Is that the young-republicans facebook page? I notice the 'date created' is April 8th 2010, but the date created on http://www.facebook.com/pages/Young-Republican-Network/269093836936 is 2008... So I don't think it's that. So I don't think it's that. I'm probably just being slow here and missing the obvious, but I can't figure out what's going on. :)

UPDATE:

An internet conservative group has been caught waging a dirty campaign to slander Democrats. (It's not the Young Republicans as earlier thought. My apologies to them, they can go back to their shuffleboard now.) This shadowy group of conservative trolls created a Facebook group entitled "Crash the Tea Party” and falsely attributed its creation and administration to a “a Nationwide Network of Democrats.”

Check out this screen grab I pulled on Friday, April 16 from the “Crash the Tea Party” Facebook group (see notsofreshfeelings.com for screengrabs):



As you can see, there is no mention of right-wing affiliation and a bald-faced lie about ”who we are.”

The administrators of the Facebook page have since removed the false affiliation, but continue to manage the group, tacitly acknowledging their involvement.

Can’t you just imagine the soliloquy that gave rise to this great idea:

“Those fascist Liberals! When they are not busy Hating the Troops™ by fussing about all that Halliburton nonsense and yellowcake uranium eggtimer props made from Wet n' Wild, they are Crashing on Real Americans' God-Given Right to protest the Tyranny of Free & Open Landslide Elections!”

No Young Republicans in the URL. Numbers are all different. But it appears to be the same page as in your post, created same date. You can't just change URL's with FB, you'd have to start over with a new page under a new name to do that.

I think that Kos got the wool pulled over their eyes on this one.

The page may not be attributable to YR, but it's not a democratic effort. I knew something seemed strange about the whole idea when I first heard of it: why would democrats pretend to be racists when the Tea Baggers (Baggers, baggers, baggers - they don't like that term now that they found out what it really means so that's the term I'm going to persist in sticking to them:) )
are doing such a good job on their own? The purported democrats' subversion would be merely lost in the sea of racist slogans.

On the other hand, the real democratic infiltrators with the really funny signs like "Generic Angry Slogan" send a real message.

Finally, you can tell when you are reading something by a right wingnut pretending to be a democrat, because they still won't use the adjective "democratic" in reference to the Democratic party.
