I had the chance to see Obama give the commencement at U of M today...and DECLINED. Why did I decline? Because to do so, I would have had to be there at 5:30 A.M. and usher people into the stadium until 12:30 or so. I was already up this early anyway...and for the ushering, I could have you know, not been lazy for once. Somebody give me a tongue lashing. Please?

6. I had a major screw up yesterday

First in a long while, but shit happens. I cut some pipe too short resulting in several hundred dollars worth of scrap. If that's as bad as it gets, I'm in good shape.

7. I was an idiot once too

A friend had tickets to see my favorite band, Queen. He could not use them and offered them to me. I couldn't find anyone to go with, so I declined. Freddie Mercury died later that year. I missed the chance of a lifetime. However, I vowed then and there, if I wanted to go somewhere and no one could join me, I would go alone. I would never miss a chance like that again.
