10. That is the only part he missed--the part where reasonable safety precautions costs jobs!
Oh, and there should have been some sort of mention of how many workers for the gravel company, not to mention other people, died when the KABOOM happened. Because you know, the good thing would have been, at least when those gravel workers died, they all had jobs.

12. He's only got six panels
Tough to work in all the asinine talking points; sometimes you have to just settle for the flavor, not the whole meal. But I have to sympathize most with the teevee talking chuckleheads, who get paid gazillions of dollars a year to go in front of a camera and confess that they can't tell what the truth is when it's staring them right in the face. I wonder what their souls are going for these days? Seems to be a buyer's market, so you can probably pick some up cheap.

22. Reminds me of what Paul Krugman wrote in his book The Great Unraveling
Referring to the media's coverage of the economic debate in the 2000 presidential election and how they were giving equal weight to GW's patently wrong "facts", Krugman wrote something to the effect that ...

... if Bush stated the earth was flat, the headline would read: Shape of World -- Views Differ.

18. "The major difference....
... between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair." - said Douglas Adams from the grave to the folks at BP.

35. General "Buck" Turgidson: I wish we had one of them Doomsday Machines.
President Merkin Muffley: How is it possible for this thing to be triggered automatically and at the same time impossible to untrigger?

Dr. Strangelove: Mr. President, it is not only possible, it is essential. That is the whole idea of this machine, you know. Deterrence is the art of producing in the mind of the enemy... the FEAR to attack. And so, because of the automated and irrevocable decision-making process which rules out human meddling, the Doomsday machine is terrifying and simple to understand... and completely credible and convincing.

....

Dr. Strangelove: Of course, the whole point of a Doomsday Machine is lost, if you *keep* it a *secret*! Why didn't you tell the world, EH?

Ambassador de Sadesky: It was to be announced at the Party Congress on Monday. As you know, the Premier loves surprises.

...

President Merkin Muffley: But this is absolute madness, Ambassador! Why should you *build* such a thing?

Ambassador de Sadesky: There were those of us who fought against it, but in the end we could not keep up with the expense involved in the arms race, the space race, and the peace race. At the same time our people grumbled for more nylons and washing machines. Our doomsday scheme cost us just a small fraction of what we had been spending on defense in a single year. The deciding factor was when we learned that your country was working along similar lines, and we were afraid of a doomsday gap.
President

Merkin Muffley: This is preposterous. I've never approved of anything like that.

Ambassador de Sadesky: Our source was the New York Times.
