I've been thinking about that a lot during the past month. At least we'd be on our WAY to new ways of powering our lives, cars, homes, etc.

Perhaps those dying birds wouldn't be dying. Perhaps those fisherfolk wouldn't be losing their livelihoods.

Bush has blood and oil on his hands.

2. Al's happy, he's rolling in cash and he has no blood on his hands
St. Gore is doing just fine and is happy that he's not bogged down with any of our problems.

4. Not perfect, though there is no question that much of this bs
that occured with Bush would have ever happened with President Gore.

6. Al Gore Never Would Have Been President For 8 Years
If we assume that 9/11 still happens when Al Gore is President (a point I would heartily argue--I believe right down to my very soul that had Gore been President, 9/11 wouldn't have happened), you know what would have happened? The Republicans would have launched a full-scale assault on him. I mean, it would have been merciless. It would have been 4 solid years of "he can't keep the country safe." And in the end, whoever ran against him in 2004 would have won in a cakewalk. So very likely, we would be talking about all the horrible things that happened from 2004 to 2008, when President McCain was in charge. (Shudder)

That's the ultimate irony of it all. Because it was a Republican in the White House at the time of the worst attack on American soil in decades, it only proved how heroic he was and how great he was at protecting the country. Wrap your head around that one.
