1. The woman is using a petroleum based solvent to remove the oil from the kids?

4. Johnson's baby oil works really good.
We have tar balls on the south facing beaches here in Santa Barbara and we always carry Johnson's baby oil to get the tar off.

5. I did not know that.
I know Crisco shortening ( any shortening) will get pine cone pitch off.

I was wondering what the hell was in that green stuff she was spraying on her kids.

Use of that goes back to at the least the '60s.

11. Which is strangely enough (not) a mineral oil. ie petroleum based.
Use olive oil on your baby.

And a good coir mat to remove the tar.

Far too many of J&Js products exist solely to correct the deficiencies of other J&J products.

taking your kids to the beach to play in fouled sand is wrong, IMO.

9. The kid's hair is wet. They have been in the water, too.
Swimming in oil dispersant water, playing on oily beaches, and out in 90 degree heat.
Wonderful.

7. children who will be here until probably 2090
They're learning young what it's like to live IN a massive environmental disaster. Their parents are selfish assholes.

12. The main thing that's wrong
is that the national treasures of our coastline are now so fouled that it's not safe for children to play and swim.

Other than that, she's got to lose some of that loose flabby skin if she's going to keep wearing the two-piece.

13. Uhhh... you do realize you can't lose skin, don't you?
Particularly skin caused by having children.

It has to be surgically removed, which isn't covered by insurance - even IF you have muscle damage underneath.

And, if you don't like her loose, flabby skin, don't look at her. I'm sure you're no prize.

14. LOL
I make two comments, one touching on an issue of massive national importance, and the other a simple jest in good fun, and what kind of response do I get? Offense at the jest.

American Idol anyone? Oh, and by the way, any thoughts about that ecologically and economically crippling oil spill that will foul the coasts for a generation or more?

24. I've made several comments regarding the oilcano in the
past several weeks.

But, I still call out sexism when I see it.
