BP breaks promise to deploy booms.
Edited on Sun Jun-06-10 09:01 AM by dixiegrrrrl
After BP inaction, Fairhope ( Alabama ) will deploy its own boom.

BP officials promised a month ago to deploy boom in the same areas at its own expense but has not done so, city officials said.

Adding more to the story.
Alabama Gov. Bob Riley reports BP/ Coast Guard have broken promise to make boom
available for Alabama coast!
That means the oil can go to the Mobile River Delta.

And Thad Allen said this:
"He said the number of boats performing skimming operations would increase from 50 to 500 and having Coast Guard skimmers, which were "nonexistent" the last 2½ weeks, patrol the coast and Mobile Bay. "
50 boats for the Gulf?????? 50????? and none of them Coast Guard.!!!

The oil-garchy is doing practically nothing. It is if this is intentional.

Lots more disgusting details here: read about what BP calls its
"Vessels of Opportunity "program .

4. Since Obama has told us that the federal government is directing things,
who really is to blame? Either the federal government is in charge and directing things and approving what BP does or it isn't. You cannot have it both ways. Where does the buck stop?

8. The problem is that Coast Guard admiral.
Hell, all of the CG leadership has failed to do anything more than be PR tools for BP.

5. Alabama better watch out... they are messing with BP's oil. :sarcasm:
I wonder if BP will try to sue anyone who cleans up and collects oil off their own land (it's not like we could do anything with it).

6. BP vs. government
Boy, these multi national corporations really know how to bully our government, don't they? Is there any laws out there that BP is not above?

I bet BP could get Charlie Manson released from jail and appointed BP CEO with three phone calls or less, if they wanted to.

Should we get the CIA to hire the Mafia and start taking these BP exec's out? Like the good old days?
