Dear God/Goddess/Flying Spaghetti Monster -
Show us how to deal with the horrendous CRAP left in the Gulf.

Please.

We all need the comfort and help and compassion of the world. Let us remember to accept that help from anyone who offers it - and to stay the FUCK off politics so that help comes from everyone.

I won't reject help from Al Qaeda, Hamas, Mossad, Russian Mafia, or Republicans. I just want this FIXED. I won't reject help from corporations, the Red Cross, Black September, 4/22 or ANYONE.

Just do what we need to do to get our Gulf fixed.

Please.

Please.

1. I think the people at thereifixedit.com
would have ALREADY fixed it if they had been asked to brainstorm and come up with a solution. They'd certainly do better than BP has so far.

Read history from 2000 bc to about now.

We aren't better than that or any different.

Bible is a great source of human stupidity on display. Other religous text say similar things recording our society for 4000 years. We are greedy dumbasses that continually destroy ourselves.

5. I am not a bible believer or anywhere close -
but it seems to me that those who ARE should be volunteering en masse to help with this crap.

I keep having these insane hopes, and my husband reminds me that Sarah Palin is a "Christian". Crap. Fuck. Where DO we turn?

6. I love the Bible
Many years of Please don't do that and people doing it anyway.

New Testament, we'll simplify it for you. Notice how quickly the Christians recreated the Temple system.

If there is a God, he shakes his head knowing full well the child is going to do what he shouldn't do and has to let him learn his lesson, though it appears our species is incapable of learning the big lessons.

8. Yeah. My prayer is Save the Gulf. Please, please.
One of the most incredible places on this old world. Atigun Pass here is going to be my "sprinkle spot" once I'm gone and cremated, but I'm hoping a few ashed drift toward Biloxi.

The people are fucked because a millisecond to the earth is 1000 years.

13. Jake, it isn't so much the people
as it is the entire ecosystem.

People are necessary to that, too.

This is the worst. The Gulf is such an incredible place. I know, cuz I live in another incredible place, and we're dealing with 420,000 acres of forest fires. My heart is Southern, in many ways. My daughter and her dad are there.

Those people are grieving and will be for a long, long time. I did the Exxon/Valdez. We still cry.

15. Oh there will be another eco system in 1000 years
God knows what is in it, but I'm pretty sure life will out survive us.

Hell, some of us might even end up evolving into it, as either higher intelligent beings living in flux with nature or some Vonnegut cannibalistic hybrid.

You never know.

17. Dude, you know I love you,
but pessimism isn't the way to go right now for me.

I want my fish, crabs, shrimp, pelicans, seagulls, dolphin, redfish et al back. Even if it's at the expense of people! :loveya:

20. Not so sure the people are so essential to the ecosystem. It seems that most flora and fauna do
much better when there is a dearth of people around.

9. What makes you think there is any "fixing" this?
Great damage has already been done and it is going to get much, much worse. This is way beyond "fixable" from the human perspective. IIf nature were left to her own devices she would take care of this problem in oh, maybe a 10 to 100 thousand years but the problem is nature won't be left to her own devices. These cluster fuck hydrocarbon corporations are going to keep right on doing what they've been doing and more because they control the energy market for the entire civilization in an era of increasing demand and decreasing supply. Nothing short of a complete turnaround of the way our civilization 'does business' is going to save us now, and even then it will be post ecological (and probably sociological) apocalypse.

10. I don't, Beam - and I cry a lot about it.
It's bad, it'll get worse. I was here for the Exxon Valdez. It's 20 years, and still very, very, very awful in the Sound.

Nature can't fix what humans fucked up for pure greed.

We have to do the best we can, and for that we have to accept whatever help is offered. My soul is drained, no more than a wisp and I still am crying.

... we should at least demonstrate that collectively we have learned a lesson from this and won't continue to destroy mother nature.

which, translated, means you got that right, dude!

However, the lesson won't be applied by the rich and greedy.
Ever.

14. Jack needs to replace the plug and kill the smoke monster
frankly, the image of that Gulf hell and the Island Monster from the deep seems to be only the horror that Eloise predicted if Desmond fooled around with the future (or the past, whatever)

Only BP is MIB.

(Sorry - something about this whole thing just seemed so...

so...

familiar?

Sorry, i know this is no laughing matter at ALL, but the flying spaghetti monster made me say it...

I have been thinking it for weeks.

The Gulf is fucked for a while, the people even more so.

Oh and I still can't figure out why as an all powerful Island being and all I didn't hit on Kate.

friggin' elmo killed you

(that would be ben linus)

(sorry OP- no intent to hijack this thread at all but sometimes we need to laugh to keep from crying.)

Every national resource we have should be allocated to cleaning this mess up now. Every human being. Everywhere. Doing whatever we can.

No Jake, God, Goddess or spahghetti monster can help us now.

Faith will move mountains, i know...

But bring a shovel

(lots of 'em)

but a little levity before we die can't hurt...

and I thought the synchronicity of the cork in the bottle of evil to contain the smoke monster was just TOO much like some psychic mindgame on our culture m(kinda like the Lone Gunmwen pilot involving a passenger jet being hijacked remotely and crashed into the WTC which aired 6 months BEFORE 9-11)

anyone else care to try to not become suicidal with some jests?

25. And the Deity says, "HELL NO!"
"You Humans screwed it up, YOU fix it. Don't expect Divine Intervention from me/us."

At least, that's the message that I'm getting from the Goddess. The Gods are disgusted with us.
