Palin tweets new solution: PRAY for divine intervention/miracle
Yes, our country's resident energy expert-- this from Alaska Palin watcher, The Immoral Minority: :eyes:

Palin is all a Twitter today!
Sarah has had very busy thumbs today.
http://theimmoralminority.blogspot.com/

First she suggests that the best solution to the problem in the Gulf of Mexico is to "pray away the stain".

Gulf disaster needs divine intervention as man's efforts have been futile. Gulf lawmakers designate today Day of Prayer for solution/miracle

THIS is the woman who threw a hissy fit on Bill O'Reilly's show about how the President was not doing enough to stop this spill? And HER solution is to give up and pray to God for a miracle? You know maybe if the Republicans had not allowed the oil companies to write their own regulations we would not have to rely on divine intervention! Did THAT ever dawn on little Miss "Drill Baby, Drill?"

Now I know the Repugs and the Palin-bots are going to try and make the case that President Obama asked for our prayers in his speech last week as well. But the President was asking Americans to pray for strength in dealing with this crisis, NOT for a solution or miracle:

"This nation has known hard times before and we will surely know them again. What sees us through – what has always seen us through – is our strength, our resilience, and our unyielding faith that something better awaits us if we summon the courage to reach for it. Tonight, we pray for that courage. We pray for the people of the Gulf. And we pray that a hand may guide us through the storm towards a brighter day. Thank you, God Bless You, and may God Bless the United States of America."

5. Good luck with that, Sarah...
Then again, if you agree with your pal Governor Goodhair that this spill was simply an "act of God," maybe you should be asking God for guidance as to why He would let something like this happen in the first place. Especially down in "God's Country"...

7. I'm reminded of the scene from "Das Boot"
German movie about a u-boat and its crew. The ship takes a hit and starts shipping water. The guy in charge of the engine room is frantically trying to marshall his men and one guy is standing at his post, eyes closed, praying. The chief hollers at him and slugs him right across the chops. He shouts something the effect that he needs men at their posts, not this shit.

What part would Mrs. Palin be playing in this scene, and do we have any takers for the other role? Multiple takes may be necessary.

9. A kinder gentler version of similar
the line-up of people prepared to slap sense into the hysterical screaming fool in the movie Airplane...

Ahhh, I'm not a violent person, but that thought vis-a-vis Palin does bring a smile to my face, I must admit.

23. 'Once lived in the region.. That is the language many in the region
respond to and it is what they depend on to cope. Coping--not solving. I can't begrudge them that, if it helps. But, I think that is all it was.

And, I suppose I should add, that I am in the Rachel Maddow camp as to my impressions on the speech, so I am not without my share of criticism.

25. Then, they should be hearing that from their ministers
not from the president of the US. He should keep religion out of it.

29. There has been no President since the founding who has totally
left religion out of it... Even Washington and Jefferson used the language if not the "beliefs." Your harder line viewpoint is likely to be disappointed for many many decades to come, I'm afraid. There is a line that should not be crossed, I agree... but some flowery speech meant to comfort is not where I'd draw the battle lines.

13. Wow! Governor Perry Served Only Two Years!
Palin should keep her mouth shut before most of the voting public learn just how little she really knows about the oil industry. If only the governors of Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana had served for only half a term, they could have been energy experts, too!

14. Palin's prayer...
Heavenly Father of my republican party of that, also too, um, three-legged stool. I pray for drill, baby, drill in addition though, too shifting more toward our scary President Obama who, also, too, does not understand we are going to be dropped to our knees and bowing to the Saudis, and Venezuela and places like Russia that will keep producing oil and petroleum products, and we will have to let them produce for us because we will still be dependent upon these sources of energy in addition though, too, shifting more towards renewables, which of course we need, and the other leg of that stool is conservation. Amen.
