And yes, I'll admit that I'm not as down on the rules in general as I was yesterday when I posted that, now that I've had time to think about it. Because there's punishment beyond just getting the thread locked, people will follow them more and then the question about whether or not someone should be tombstoned or whether or not they habitually break the rules or whatever might become less of a topic on DU. People will have their own reasons to follow the rules aside from peer pressure and mob action.

to cause Skinner and friends to go into rethink mode. The fact that you, with your reactionary allegiances and values and habit of posting only in order to start fights, celebrate the proposed new rules should be a red flag for any who want DU to continue to be worthwhile.

Glad you chimed in, Was a bit unclear about what impact the revised rules might mean. I hope Skinner read this thread and understands that your support is a good indicator that they mean DU will become smaller, less diverse, more righty, and less valuable and influential. Maybe you can drum up some money from your pro-bananna-republican co-ideolgists to make up for the drop off in small contributions, Shouldn't be hard. Far less than chump change for those you are allied with and always support. Less than pocket lint for them.

If I am as bad of a troll as you are saying that I am, you'd have to consider that possibility. And then you'd have to actually form an opinion on the new rules yourself, rather than relying on not having the same opinion as someone whose posts you dislike.

28. I had my opinion already. A few good clarifications but a turn toward enforcing

"centrist" doctrine and the PTB. I merely suggested that Skinner might look at your comments and then reflect on what it meant that someone like you, with your long record, was cheer leading. I guess the fact that you have not been banned, while many far more human and humane and constructive posters have been, suggests that Skinner might read you r flattery and conclude he's doing what people he likes, like you, like.
