Jack Jacobs just told Contessa Brewer that McChrystal's views are
widely held in the military. Claims that the rank and file of the military will say it is right to fire McChrystal because of chain of command issues but in private will agree with him on his opinions. Jacobs is a Bush/Cheney flack and a warmonger of the first order. I don't think the military holds the President in that sort of contempt and the likes of Jacobs have everything to gain by gaming this issue.

1. Doesn't matter what anyone in the military thinks of Obama. What matters is
they are all held to the same code of conduct. That's why Stan needs a swift kick in the ass.

9. Even McCain and Lindsey disapproved of his remarks. (Probably not the
content, but that he actually said that shit to a reporter.)

2. Well - the Right Wing have been claiming the Military as in their camp for years now
I don't really expect that to change.

4. It sure seems Obama is better liked by the military than Bush was.
The staged photo ops of Bush vs. those of Obama have a definite attitude difference among the troops. Many in Bush photos weren't even smiling, seemed to not want to be there. Obama, they smile, extend their hand to shake his, and seem genuinely happy that he's there.

Big difference. I think Jacobs views represent a small group, but not the majority.

5. If there are some in the military who agree with McChrystal, part of the blame is
Armed Forces Radio broadcasting Rush Limbaugh who has treasonous statements against the Commander In Chief.

7. I was wondering if rush was still on armed forces radio...if he is

inauguration.

6. and since Jacko's such a media-whore, he'll say stuff like that at every opportunity
and then the media will all quote him, and re-invite him to re-state it over and over.

This republicans-love-the-military meme is getting quite old..

What it means is that republicans love the military INDUSTRIAL-CORPORATE complex, and they love the parades, flags & symbolism of it all, and the ones in congress love the boondoggle/slushfund money they can extort from the government as they transform the money sent "home" into votes/campaign cash for their perpetual re-elections.

Republicans rarely have met a war (military action) that they did not want to fund with tax dollars or populate with "other people's loved children/loved ones".
