He pulled this shit on purpose.

According to the Editor of Roling Stone magazine, McChrystal was called before the article went to press and confirmed EVERYTHING.

He knows his strategy has failed and he wants to insure he doesn't get blamed.

5. All of the generals were proponents of counter insurgency
All of the generals advised Obama to move forward with it.

3. I was thinking earlier that McChrystal's move really IS as odd as the pundits are making it out...
...to be.

He knows what he's doing. I toss my vote behind your theory: It just makes the most sense.

4. And wants to be free to hand out blame when the shit hits the fan.
The problem for Obama is he chose MCChrystal's approach. He ordered the surge and put his faith in McChrystal's counter-insurgency strategy.

They are tethered to the same sinking weight.

8. I thought he did that a long time ago.
Like, during the campaign when he said he was going to focus on Afghanistan.

10. So far the only acknowledged betrayal is his mouthing off.

Will the Administration go as far as saying McChrystal's strategy was wrong?

Will they use this opportunity to say McChrystal led them in the wrong direction?

Or, will the have McChrystal's (if he is replaced) replacement follow through on McChrystal's strategy?

12. McChrystal also wants to get his high paying job as a defense contractor while the time is ripe
He will be back at the Pentagon in a business suit selling weapons to the Army in no time.

11. But just what is his strategy. That is the question.
I mean this was not just a slip of the toung...he intended to say it.
And his strategy could be long term.
