I don't know that I did it because of a drunk's error. I did it for the excuses, cover - up statements, diffusing, arrogance, and prolonged non-fixing.

I had been avoiding them for years and never went to one since based on what I knew and despised about them beofre the accident and after.

BP was no accident - it was cold blooded decision making and taking.

Greed, inability to listen, and corraboration with other oil/gas companies to destroy progress on all alternative enery methods, the ability and the acts to spend money to get deregulated, and to crap on the little people of the world.

I've bought Exxon fuel knowingly two times since 1989.

That said, we all buy Exxon fuel. There is no fuel pump labeling requirement to announce from which refinery our gas originated.

But I boycott the brand.

5. Well, that's two. Also, tell me, how do you excersize your boycott?
I mean, can you describe to me exactly how you scrutinize your daily consumption habits to make sure that Exxon had no part in them?

Honest question.

9. ACtually I boycott them because of their refusal to extend benefits
to partners of gay and lesbian employees. Or rather the fact that they actually took them away once they merged with Mobil.

11. Me
If I can possibly avoid it. If I'm about to run out of gas and the only station around is an Exxon station, I have no choice.

15. Weird thing is, Exxon expanded as the oil industry shrunk.
While seeing a revenue drop they still managed this...

"The earnings, however, beat analysts’ expectations, helping drive up shares, which rose 2.72 percent on Monday, to $66.18.

Revenue was up 6 percent, to $89.84 billion in the quarter."

Because of the aflatoxin scare.

(Most readers are probably young enough to have to Google both of those.)

But PWS is also a good reason.

29. I hardly ever see an Exxon station.
I generally buy my gas at the Towne Pump, which is consistently the lowest-priced local option. Or, if I travel to the city to the south, at the Fred Meyer for 10 cents less than anywhere else.

I don't know where they are getting their gas.

30. I do....
I can count the times I've bought gasoline at an Exxon station in the last ten years on one hand. Of course, boycotting a company like Exxon is complex-- I probably buy from them much more than I realize, just not gas from Exxon stations. They likely have MANY more tentacles that I'm not aware of.

32. Me, too. Cancelled a card I had used for many years back then.
Never used them once since.

I'm not the kind of guy who ever runs out of gas. I plan my life, and when I need gas, I get it from a source that belongs to a local couple - a traditional, non franchise Mom and Pop.

I've been boycotting BP for years because of their other safety atrocities.
