Reporter informs state(Texas) about tar "mats"(some about 2 feet by 6 feet) on Galveston's west beach area. To be fair, a beach-goer brought it up to him. At one point you see a small field of tar on the beach. Saw this on the 10 PM news, July 7th, today. The reporter says that it was confirmed that it came from the BP spill, then when he goes out of edit, he says they are still waiting to find out. Says they think it was kicked up by Alex.

Was this on national news? This is more tar than we have seen on the MSM here, before, by far!

4. It sucks but the state I really feel for is Florida when they get any oil since they are the one
gulf state that made a point of rejecting drilling in favor of a focus on tourism.

I would, of course, prefer no state had to deal with this crap but I just put florida in a separate category. They never wanted to assume this risk in exchange for a financial reward re the $$$ in the oil industry but still have to deal with the consequences.

5. Hard to even estimate where the WORST of all this will be . . .
still far in the futures of these Gulf states?

Or is it all going to lay at the bottom of the ocean creating a new dead zone?
