About the LeBron mania sweeping the media...
It's the media's fault. They could have said no to LeBron when he requested a full hour on ESPN.

The talk shows could have decided that they weren't going to talk about LeBron.

The frenzy in New York was generated by a couple of rappers who want to show they have cred beyond the turn table.

LeBron is an astute business person who is not going to turn down the chance to make some money for himself and his charities.

LeBron would be a fool not to take advantage of the media fawning all over him.

What concerns me is that the Media is blaming LeBron for what they created.

The media never ever takes responsibility for their actions.

They love to blame the object of their attention for making them shower them with face and voice time.

It's just like Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton.

The media could have easily said this isn't newsworthy and yet there they are blaming these two objects of the media attention for being media whores.

It's ridiculous to put all this crap on TV and then have the media ask have we become vapid...

4. lebron is an astute business person. so are the folks that run ESPN
I don't think ESPN is blaming itself for running a show that will probably make them more money than whatever they would have otherwise been running at that time.

6. It's people on the outside that are taking shots...
CNN's morning crew were shaking their well coiffed heads his morning, complaining about the attention and then go right to a story about LeBron James...

It's not just LeBron, it's the whole state of the cable media...

It's like a drug dealer asking his "client" if he is using too much...

in micrometers and micrograms. I find the endless publicity to be amazing.

11. It is Le Bron and his ginormous ego that is driving this
First it was to be a reality show, but Le Bron didn't show for Game 5 in the playoffs, and that went bye bye. So now he is putting on this show.

ESPN didn't ask Le Bron to do this show, he approached them.

Frankly, I don't care where Le Bron goes, just so long as it's not to my Lakers. All I hope for Le Bron is that he doesn't win a ring. He simply doesn't deserve it, and we'll never hear the end of it if he does.

14. It's all Part of the Roman Bread And Circuses Culture we live in.
The Sheep must be distracted in every ridiculous, hedonistic, hyperbolic way possible in order to keep them from thinking about anything real.

The More Entertained We Are, The More Disconnected We Will Be from anything that really matters.
