NPRs Science reporter Richard Harris is jumping through hoops..
Being an apologist for BP once again dropping the ball on containing the oil spill.

For 3 days he's been saying BP should have the cap on in 24 hours and when they don't he has some excuse.

Also he is giddy every time he talks about BP, like he's in love.

1. they must be feeding him well at the press conferences....
I'll bet they're treating complacent, malleable journalists very nicely indeed!

2. He's a BP apologist because there have been delays in putting the cap on?

6. maybe there are delays but they use every excuse in the book
For why it's not working.

How do I know they're stalling? Because two days ago they said they'd test the cap on Tuesday and now it's been called off completely.

Stall or delay...either way they refuse to admit they have no clue what they're doing.

4. Uh, they do have the cap on. They just haven't tested the pressures nor have they started
shutting the valves off.

7. Considering they've halted that procedure, it's probably the case
that those valves won't be shut off.

8. Something scared them. Think it was the first pressure reading. See thread above where they're
afraid the well will rupture!
