1. I know that it is in the sticks and that the Dems have no business repping it
We can hold the 23rd if the tea + gop split the votes again..

4. You think you can get reliable knowledge from someone who says "in the sticks"?
Have you googled the district to find out what it says about itself? Its history? Its population distribution? Its pride? Its problems?

6. Oh, Lord, it includes Saranac.
Do you have any idea how beautiful that place is? The Adirondacks is an amazing place to visit. How is the recession affecting their tourism? How is global warming affecting skiing?

These are kind, generous people who live on the economic edge. Don't you DARE let anyone disparage them.

7. I lived in Saranac

Not the same as Saranac Lake which is more of a tourist destination, Saranac consisted basically of a hardware store and a gas station when I lived there.
I knew my neighbors, low key, hard working people without much money.
I can only imagine how tough it is on them at this time.

And yes, the Adirondacks are quite beautiful.

9. I spent my 17th summer in Saranac Lake.
Around Labor Day, just before I left, I climbed onto the roof at sunset and looked out over Lake Flower with the sunset reflected in the lake and the turned trees bright red and yellow. The color was so intense that for the next year I felt like my glasses were dirty.

10. I'm on the Wiki right now

I don't exactly live very close to the district (central NJ) and I know that the above poster (who is one of my Facebook friends) lives a lot closer to the district than I do. I was hoping to get information from someone who lives closer to the district.

I did vacation there once, but I was very young when I did so. Most 6 year old kids pay no attention to politics, and I did not then.

ETA I am somewhat familiar due to the national attention that it received last year, but I will admit most of my focus last year was stopping Chris Christie (which we failed at).
