Watchdog group: Feingold has gotten few donations from financial services industry
July 19, 2010
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Sen. Russ Feingold has received few campaign contributions from the financial services sector over the course of his Senate career, according to a new analysis by the Center for Responsive Politics.

The watchdog group, which tracks money in politics, says Feingold is among the three senators who have received the fewest donations from the financial services sector. Less than 4% of the Wisconsin Democrat's donations throughout his career come from the finance, insurance and real estate sector, according to the group.

Only two other senators received less money from those sectors: Sens. Herb Kohl, a Wisconsin Democrat who self-funds his campaigns, and Bernie Sanders, a Vermont Independent who calls himself a socialist.

Feingold was the only Democrat to vote against a Wall Street overhaul bill that recently passed the Senate.

2. Feingold plays it pretty straight.. When he says he did vote for
Financial Reform because it was too weak, you can pretty much
bank on it. One might have wished for his vote, but at least
we can respect his honesty to himself.
