Wine spill near Dundee closes Oregon 99W
http://www.oregonlive.com/news/index.ssf/2010/07/wine_spill_near_dundee_closes.html

Enough wine to quench the thirst of Caesar’s parched army spilled across Oregon 99W near Dundee this afternoon after two commercial trucks crashed into each other, Oregon State Police report.

Police estimate more than 1,000 bottles of wine poured from the back of one of the trucks when it collided with a second truck and overturned around 1:40 p.m.

The truck carrying the wine had been heading north on Oregon 18 and attempted unsuccessfully to turn onto Highway 99W. That’s when the other truck, heading south, struck it.

The wine’s variety and manufacturer remain unknown.

Police say state transportation workers removed at least two dump trucks filled with broken and damaged wine bottles. They estimated the crews would need two more dump trucks to clear the scene and reopen the highway.

3. In the heart of Oregon wine country
The neighbors were heard to say that the crash left a slightly floral aroma in the air, with a bold, lively, fruity nose, but an acrid finish .....
