1. The battle for the Democratic party has moved to the primaries

Particularly in congressional districts like mine with a pro-corporate Blue Dog congressman.

As I tell the DNC fundraisers who keep calling and crying about how important it is to keep the Dem. majority. "You're exactly right that we DO have the Dem. majority now, but clearly the Democratic leadership either cannot control it, or has chosen to go with the corporate lobbyists campaign donations. My donations and my volunteer phone-banking/campaigning time will go to progressive liberals."

It's not about betrayal and resentment; it's about effecting LIBERAL CHANGE - not funding Goldman-Sachs bonuses with taxpayers money, or lying about the situation in the Gulf to protect Big Oil, or pimping for Big Insurance and calling it health care reform, or appointing yet another elite Ivy Leaguer to the Supreme Court and saying oh, look, I appointed a woman.

3. It seems I wasn't alone in donating to opponents of Blue Dogs

this year because a lot of them raised more funds than the incumbent conservative piece of dead wood. Halter raised more than Lincoln, even with her extreme corporate toadying, and she had to rely on election fraud, closing most of the precincts in strong pro Halter areas to get the nomination, something that proved self defeating.

The party has got to notice who the money makers are and at a certain point, it is all about money.

I am by no means a big donor. I inherited a little more than I need to live on, but not that much. I am, however, a frequent donor and it's been noticed.

Anything and everything we can do to get through to the muzzy headed dingbats inside the Beltway bubble is necessary. It is imperative to oppose Blue Dogs in primaries whenever, however and wherever we can.

Getting conservatives in both parties out of our government is vital to the survival of this country and the people within it. The best way to get them out of ours is in the primary races.

4. Professional Leftists will be a lot more discerning with their

money, their volunteer energies, and their votes after Gibb's diarrhea of the face....this ProfessionalLeftist included.

The thing is, Obama can say all sorts of things (and we know Gibbs can - LOL!) - but it's what he DOES (or doesn't do) that really tells the story. That's what I'm looking at. What he DOES. And whether Gibbs wants to whine about it or not - or negatively define a significant sector of the Dem voting block - it's what Obama DOES (or didn't do) that has garnered him some criticism. You can't say A and do B in an about-face like that and expect people not to notice the pretentiousness of it - and to lose their faith and their trust. To expect that not to happen given what we've seen in the last 18 months, is unrealistic. We got "health reform" (which was health INSURANCE reform, if even that) instead of health CARE reform - and it's basically the same unsustainable system, based on for-profit insurance companies who insert themselves between doctors and patients, driving up costs. That's 'change'? Uh. Not really. We got 'finance reform' - written by the wall street crime syndicate that won't even kick in soon enough to prevent anything and even if it did, it's so watered down Wall St. was happy with it, we know it's useless.

DADT is still in effect. Jobs are still pouring out of this country at an even faster pace (or being insourced for the cheapest labor possible) all with government help and blessing and OUR taxpayer money to help - even while unemployment stubbornly hovers at around 10% (25% real). And we're still spending trillions on unnecessary wars - the same ones.

Change....I agree with Cenk - it's pocket change and little of that.

I'll never not vote and I'll probably never not vote Dem (unless Obama tacks even more rightward over the next 2 years). But the Democratic party and almost every candidate I'd have the ability to vote for in my state can go fuck themselves if they think they are getting a dime of my money or a minute of my time other than the time it takes me to walk into a voting booth and push a button.

They want to serve corporations first and have the rest of us be happy with any leftover scraps then let them get all their money from corporations and they can do without the scraps I have to offer.
