I think he meant that the people he was deriding are insincere in their advocacy.

Otherwise, we fucking retarded, drugged, crazy people wouldn't have known what it meant, let alone how to say it.

I am a professional. I follow a learned profession: educating. I'm on the left.

I don't think that's what Gibbs meant, though. I think he's pissed that some on the left are skilled practitioners when it comes to evaluating the value of, and effectiveness of, this administration's policies, words, and actions.

On the other hand, "conforming to the standards" just doesn't cut it -- since when did we "professional leftists" ever conform. ;-)
