Jeez Barack, could you please raise a little hell with the opposition? Stop being so scholarly and amiable? You should be screaming about how the republicans are always trashing and insulting you and lying about you. Just once I'd like to see you come unglued when they say you're not a citizen or the right religion, I know "I" would be.

Fuck the opposition party, come out swingin' already, float like a fucking butterfly if you want, but for Christ's sake when are you gonna sting like a fucking bee?

6. That is his one flaw
He keeps trying to include the party of no. He is ever optimistic that they will change their ways.

10. I don't quite see it that way. (o btw, Fuck You, Wolf Blitzer!)
I think he made a genuine attempt to include them, but he knows what they are about now and probably always did.

He brings this up in many of his speeches, that he wants to work with the pugs but they just want to say no.

I think he's doing quite okay with the messaging.

The shame is the media still calls both him and the pugs partisan.
Always with the 'but the dems do it too! coming from the shitholes like Wolf Blitzer

15. I wish that just once he would tell them to f$%k off
Not in those words of course.

I know that the best way to win in an argument is remain calm and to not get defensive but there are times when that tactic is ineffective. With the organized effort to attack the President 24/7, it simply will not work.

They are going to attack him regardless of his actions, so some times it would make us feel better if he would just let out a little smack down on the party of no.

And Wolfie and the rest of the media is a huge instigator.

17. I dream about that too. Scare the living shit out of some hack interviewer.
or jump over a desk to get at Orange Man's throat - or the many throats that need some throttlin'

but that would be so out of character for him.

Tell you what tho. When his stint is over I'm lining up for his book on the WH years. Maybe he'll letter rip in that a bit.

14. The whole party, with few exceptions, are either milquetoast weaklings or in on the scam.
I don't see what other explanation there can be.

The Democrats should have blasted through as much "far left" policy as possible with President Obama leading the charge with upraised middle finger firmly in the faces of the Republicans. He should have slapped the shit out of any Democrat who didn't go along with the program. When Bill Maher said we need him to be an asshole for the progressive side, he was right. Why should we care what the Republicans think about anything? They never care what we think when they are in power, they just steamroll us. They maintain strict party discipline, they whip their people into shape. It's the one thing I admire about the right wing, they know what they want and they do whatever they have to do to make it happen.

What good is being "post-partisan" when you are the only guy playing that game? It takes two to tango and Obama has been stood up for the prom.

The thing is, left leaning policies actually would work and people admire strength. Bully the bullies right back and get results and you'd never be out of power regardless of the corporate media and right wing echo chamber. The right would end up looking like the psychos they are when the evidence flies in the face of the things they say. As it is, watering down policy to the point of near meaninglessness to appease these assholes and still not having them vote for it makes you look weak and makes your policies ineffective.

It's because the Democrats never act that way that many of us on the progressive side believe that they really aren't with us. That they are actually not much different than the Republicans. That they merely want to keep up the pretense of a two party system when there really is one giant corporate/Wall street party.

At the very least, why not actually make the Republicans stand up and filibuster good policy instead of just slinking away with a weak "we tried but the big bullies wouldn't let us" excuse?

Because it's all a sham.
