Jobless man robbed bank so he could go to prison

It's been almost a year since Lawrence Lawson, an unemployed automotive designer, held up a Michigan bank and then "passed out" in the bank's vestibule. The quotes are needed since Lawson was faking -- he deliberately let himself get caught, so he could get free food and housing in prison. He couldn't find a job and decided that jail sounded pretty good.

A man threw a rock threw a store window and waited for the cops to show up. He said he had nowhere else to go but back to jail.

3. With the way this economy is going

he's going to have lots of company. High gas prices, high food prices, high mortgages, high utilities, no health care, no prescription plan, illegals taking jobs at lowest of wages pushing American born citizens out of the loop, crooks in the congress, senate, supreme court and the WH. YEAH, HE'S GONNA HAVE LOTS OF COMPANY!!!

8. I don;t blame him either

When you can't find a job , something I know alot aout and how it feels and your choice is to try to live on the streets especially if your older like 55 or above then you are faced with an entire new world with no real hope , if yoy can't get a job while you have still a roof and a way to dress and keep clean and presentable then I say I don't blame him .

I have no idea what prison life is like or whether it beats life on the street but begginng for change for food and sleeping on the side walk or in a box then prison may be a better choice . I hope I don't find out but as it is things don;t look to good from where I stand .

He should have committed a crime where he is less likely to be shot! I'd go with mail fraud or something federal like that.
