Looking beyond the election...
Edited on Tue Sep-07-10 10:26 AM by kentuck
If, IF, the Repubs win the Congress, will it help or hurt Obama in his election in 2012? And why?

And will the Party move to the right in response to their losses?

(Edited to add last sentence.)

1. Pure and Simple. Obama will be forced to pass Far Right
Legislation. Every serious piece of Legislation passed
by Democrats is Right of Center.

The Powers that be want a return to Freedom. Freedom
to them means the ability of each person to earn and
spend his own money. Taxation is a form of Coercian.

They are the party of Business. Business Freedom is
more important than anything. Deregulation. To them
Business stifles business. Business should be free to
do as they please.

We are an Aristocracy not a Democracy. The Elites
benefit from Republican Rule.

Media is controlled by elites. If Obama tries to buck
the Republicans too much, they will come down on him
like a ton of bricks.

What many of us do no seem to comprehend and even Obama
it appears missed this one. We do not elect Kings.
A President is only as powerful as people permit him
to be. GWB was able to push through all his legislation
because he had Tuesday Meetings with Republican Activists.
The Activists kept rank and file with him. Even now
GWB has a loyal following among Republicans. He began
to lose toward the end because his people began to pull
away.

From the beginning this Administration distanced themselves
from Activists. There is very little relationship with
Congress. This makes it a field day for GOP to exploit
the Democratic Party.

If the GOP win, they will see this as an affirmation of
Conservative Economic Fundamentalism and the rest is
history.

3. Will that help or hurt them in 2012?
It hurt the Repubs when they did that with Clinton, did it not?

4. That will screw or hamper many of today's effort.
That will simply either revert or hamper many of today's efforts. Hopefully. Repubs won't have the majority.
