2010 is NOTHING like 1994
1994 marked the first time that republicans had controlled the senate, in over FORTY years.

There must have been a REASON why they had been a minority for such a long time.

Once IN the majority, what did they do with all that new-found power:

Shut down government
Gave their rich friends taxpayer money
Eliminated necessary controls on banking, commerce, etc
Eventually blew through a hefty surplus & turned it into history-making deficits
Started TWO wars (with no additional taxes to pay for them)

All the campaign-style rhetoric cannot get around these "inconvenient" facts.

To be fair, they WERE successful in convincing too many so-called democrats into aiding & abetting their agenda, but there can be no denying that 40 years of minority status was not spent studying fiscal policy, in preparation for the time they might lead.

For the media to totally skip over the fact that the short time they have been in leadership positions has been anything BUT successful, only shows how successful they HAVE been, at media-control.. They cannot govern effectively, but they sure know how to propagandize.

1. Here's something else that's different.
Fox News Channel (FNC), commonly referred to as Fox News or Fox, is a cable and satellite news channel owned by the Fox Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of News Corporation. As of April 2009, it is available to 102 million households in the United States and further to viewers internationally, broadcasting primarily out of its New York City studios.

The channel was created by Australian-American media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who hired Roger Ailes as its founding CEO. The channel was launched on October 7, 1996<1> to 17 million cable subscribers. The channel grew in the late 1990s. Fox News finished the first quarter of 2009 as the second-most-watched cable network in primetime, behind USA Network.<2>

How can Fox "News" spin the inconvenient facts?

Shut down government ***Saved American from Communism/Socialism/Nazis/Terrorists***
Gave their rich friends taxpayer money ***Expanded small business***
Eliminated necessary controls on banking, commerce, etc ***Put the FREE back in FREEDOM***
Eventually blew through a hefty surplus & turned it into history-making deficits ***Lindsay Lohan wears short skirt***
Started TWO wars (with no additional taxes to pay for them) ***Fought them over there so we wouldn't have to fight them over here***
