If you believe the right won't pull out every trick in the book to pit social media against Democrat
this election season, you are seriously underestimating them. Here's a perfect example of more to come from the popular site of reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/ddi2a/i_am_a_liberal_democrat_who_attends_tea_party/

I'm not sure how many of you were on digg and twitter during the last election, but these so-called "infiltrators" are everywhere. They begin rumors pretending to be someone they're not. Last election season they were easier to spot as they quite often used mostly new, throwaway accounts. THIS season these paid and volunteer posters are already in place with "old" handles to give them credibility. Digg just had a fairly large meltdown because of a number of these ruthless scum, but don't think they aren't still there.

I have noticed that reddit, which has typically had a fairly consistent left-leaning slant in the comments section has taken on a new wave of right-wing users. You can tell by voting as well as the comments which are made. I've seen so-called "conversations" going back and forth between people which are just too perfect to be true. It used to not be that way.

Long time social media users will probably note this and not be surprised, as they remember the past election quite well. Those who are new to social media won't, however (and they are the target audience). I would love to see swarming data on how this happens but haven't seen anyone keeping tabs on it yet.

Just an FYI to challenge people who begin spouting half-truths about the democrats.

4. When the right wing knows they can't win a debate
they try to make all intelligent debate impossible. They're doing to the online media what they already succeeded at doing to the corporate press.

6. BUT if any Democrat believes any of these blatant lies
they are just as bad as the tea bags. Democrats are supposed to be intelligent and can separate the wheat from the chaff. Can't they.

8. Yes, but...
young people in particular are easily led because they aren't used to the old tricks. And just because they believe them doesn't mean we should sit back and let them.

This democrat does have a spine, still (albeit a bit stiff, LOL).

11. there is one that is going around on Facebook
It's about a doctor who wrote a letter to the President saying that he doesn't want his taxpayer dollars paying Medicaid for people who have elaborate tattoos and the latest cellphones playing "r&b" ringtones. my cousin posted it and she is studying to be a Nurse.
