ARMONK — North Castle Republican Chairwoman Loronda Murphy stepped down from her post Thursday after her home in an upscale gated community and the North Castle GOP headquarters were raided Sept. 10 by the Westchester County District Attorney's Office.

Murphy, 46, a real estate agent who has owned mortgage companies, was arrested in February by the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office on charges that she stole money during a home refinancing last year, officials said.

She was arraigned Feb. 5 in Suffolk County's 1st District Court on a charge of second-degree grand larceny, a felony, and released without bail.
