The Liberals were Right once again!! Wendell Potter, Whistleblower Insurance Companies.
just said: Had we had a Robust Public Option, the
Insurance Companies could not be pulling this stuff.
(Stop covering Kids so they do not have to take care
of Kids with Pre-Existing Conditions.)

A Robust PO would have set the standards. If the Insurance
wanted those 30 million customers they would have to compete.
THE PO Exchange would cover kids so the other Insurance Cos
would have to offer just as good policy or they could participate
in the exchange.

Just as in the Iraq War, the Liberals were right.

You think it is bad now---if GOP takes over we will get
nothing. They will give the Insurance Companies anything
they want.

Keep in mind. Insurance Companies only have responsibilty
to their Shareholders so they do not give a whit what happens
to kids or any other Americans.

Liberals, Hang in their. At least we are right.

3. There is an exchange in the law.
Any company that doesn't follow the law will not be allowed on the exchange.

We were right, certainly a PO would be better, but it also doesn't mean we get to ignore the actual law.

4. Weak exchange with NO PUBLIC OPTION. Public Option Exchange
would have been set up by Government and been more
robust.

Yes there are exchanges but no governmental control.

5. The Insurance companies are raising rates and are going to
stop coverage on kids, so they do not have to comply
with the law .

7. And they will not be allowed on the exchange in 2014
At which point they will cease to be a public company with customers.

9. It'll be time for a sternly worded letter, that's what.
Laws don't mean much when you're not enforcing them.

And in the meantime, we've got people that are already sick that may not be able to get insurance until 2014, if they can get it then.

10. A robust public option would have done NOTHING to prevent insurers stopping kids from getting
insurance.

All that would have happened is that private companies would stop accepting policies even FASTER, since the public option would absorb them all. This would make premiums for children in the public option skyrocket. A public option is a good idea, but it has NOTHING to do with this problem.

This problem will be fixed in 2014, when insurers can't deny insurance to anyone.
