28. You can see from this rally what the real America is all about
and the difference from Beck's all white crowd. and every time you hear the a**holes say they want their country back it makes you maddern' hell. This country belongs to ALL Americans, Americans of all colors, all religions and all different classes of wage earners. Not just white and rich. I tell you one thing the people who showed up at the mall today are gonna fight them like hell to keep THIS AMERICA FOR EVERYONE.We won't give up and we won't give in. I wish every republican and tea bag believer in congress gets kicked out. We know it won't happen but it is what we are praying for.

37. I noticed it was very mixed crowd too, not all old white people
...and I AM an old white person, lol.

I liked the fact One America was just that, with people speaking of all ages, races, and creeds who were standing together as the REAL America from almost all walks of life. Not like Beck's crowd with mostly well paid retired crazy eyed old white people who think they don't have their country. Yeah "their country" was run by almost all racist, classist, white men, a time for which I would prefer not to return.

While I am myself an "old angry white person" it is not for the same reasons as these purposefully superficial and ignorant Becksters, who are for the most part still acting out their self-centered, two-faced, youth-hating Boomers who "forgot" that one of their own said once, "Never trust a person over the age of thirty..." (first uttered by Jack Weinberger for the San Fran Chronicle, but also attributed to Bob Dylan, Jerry Rubin, Abbie Hoffman and others).

Maybe they had a point back then 'cause look at these old selfish Becksters now never learning one damn thing from their own times ...

Just sayin' lol

41. Well, speaking as a, well, not exactly old but no pair of spring chickens white couple, ...
...Mr. Tesha and I noticed the same thing. In fact, on the ride
on the Metro from West Falls Church to DC, we spent the entire
time talking to a no-spring-chicken-either black guy who had
just retired and was now the Executive Director of something
like the Coalition of Black Trade Unions in the NoVa area. Our
conversation only ended because he had to get off at Foggy
Bottom because that was near his volunteer assignment for
the rally.

But at the rally, one could really find the entire spectrum of
Americans in all colors and languages *INCLUDING* the
Americans who were here long before we came along and
"discovered" the place.

This was a far cry from Whitestock.

40. by 7am
a few were setting up there camp chairs and claiming their seats

though... as I told a few people that couldn't see the stage... it's aboout the energy and just being there... no real need to be front and center to feel it, to experience it... I didn't see any one of the speakers and it couldn't have been a better experience for me

51. it is scary
:D

--well, it really is for some-- the "other" can be very intimidating if we don't understand or care to... and many older white folk don't care to (as well as some others)...

I have always considered myself lucky to have had opportunity (often forced) to live amongst or work with many others... I was born into poverty on one side of my family and solid middle class on the other. I now have to go all over the United States into neighborhoods, from very wealthy (Newport RI to Beverly Hills) to very poor (Trenton to anywhere USA, under bridges!). I witness extreme opulence and abject poverty. I have been homeless, and I have stayed in penthouses in Manhattan.....

I have learned to love most of the people (usually can't tolerate self-righteous men in suits though)

The cutie-pie in the last one

They are my peeps too, and they
come from all backgrounds and
income levels!

And we SMILE!!
Not one batcrap crazy eye in the whole bunch!
We make sense and don't have to resort to lies
to prop up our goals.

Thank you, again.

You reminded me to be grateful
