I know there's plenty to criticize Obama about in regard to this issue, but I also think it's worth giving credit when it's due.

1. I will absolutely give him credit for this.

Even Clinton didn't attempt to speak directly to GLBT youth in this manner. Linking himself with someone as "controversial" as Dan Savage is definitely politically risky.

Still, he needs to end DADT and DOMA. That would be a much more effective gesture than this video.
