Poll question: Would you rather canvass door-to-door or make phone calls?
It's campaign season! Which necessary campaign volunteer activity do you prefer? Knocking on doors or phone banking?

1. Personally, I like knocking doors.
People are usually nicer at their door. You get more rude comments and hang-ups on the phones. Plus, it's good exercise, you get to know a neighborhood, and I usually end up with interesting stories.

2. I guess I'd have to say the phone, though I don't love either one, and I've done both.
At least, on the phone, you can hang up if somebody's abusive. When you're out there in person, it can get scary, like last year when one guy (who was on my list of supporters!) yelled at me to get off his property and threatened to run me over with his car! Yikes! :scared:

But when people are nice, door-to-door is the best. I had a lot of senior citizens who wanted to talk and were serious about voting. I had one whole building of retirees and one really nice lady went to the apartment doors with me, so I didn't alarm people, LOL. And we offered them rides to the polls... :)

3. Maybe I just have a hard time doing it for Michael Bennet
The best I can say about him is he's not Ken Buck.

4. I would do anything

but, I have recent pelvic fractures and am hearing impaired for phone banking. Basically useless but, I donate money when I can and talk to anyone and everyone in person about voting and the issues.

Talking issues face to face may not make as big an impact as the others but, each vote counts ;) At least they used to :(

edit: typo

by the next election so I'll canvas. Face to face is ok, the damn phone is my nemesis.

We who can't are grateful to those of you who do, you are very much appreciated.

7. I already did the door-to-door thing with the Census.
I'd like to try phone-banking.

9. I went door-to-door for Obama in 2008.
However, at this time I am not sufficiently motivated to do door-to-door, or telephoning. Sorry!

11. I can't do door-to-door...
I have physical limitations, so I have to settle for anything I can do sitting down. Phonebanking is what I do most often. I'm not crazy about it, but it needs to be done, so I do it. The hardest part is trying to sound "neighborly" when I've just been called a bitch, or worse!

12. Don't worry

we do what we can and that's all anyone expects. At least we don't just sit and bitch at the tv and we do get to the poll to vote! :fistbump:

As for the cursing you out - consider the fact that they're ignorant and let it go. Their problem - not yours.
