National poll that I would like to see: How many christian evangelicals...

How many christian evangelicals believe that it is sometimes justified to blow up an abortion clinic.

I am responding to the national poll that was taken of American Muslims regarding several issues, but the one issue that got the most press tonight was the question of how many American Muslims under 30 yrs/old believed that suicide bombings were sometimes justified. One in five American Muslims answered that suicide bombings were sometimes justified.

Out of all of the questions in the poll, this is the one that got the cable news talking heads spewing their opinions. Anderson Cooper had Glenn Beck on to spew his expected remarks.

So why on a day of another attempted christian bombing why wasn't the obvious question about the beliefs of the evangelicals asked? I want to see a scientific national poll!

1. I want a poll of how many Americans want Christianity to be an official state religion.

That one would likely be just as scary.

3. Geez, that would be scary

I was really responding to how polls are sometimes used to define a group of people, and in this case they are using it to keep up the fear of Muslims. I would love for that light to be shined back on the "majority", kind of like a mirror. Then maybe people would have to engage in real thought and dialog rather than be herded by fear tactics by our "leaders".

5. Just because I was curious

I made a little informal poll that is in no way scientific and posted the link on some bi-partisan websites. I don't think we should vote because we'll skew the results. So don't DU this poll. Just made it so it may take a while for some results.

2. I want to see one asking how many of those big mouthed phonies are

ready and willing to show how committed they are to support of the Iraq war that they'd fill out their enlistment papers and let me or anyone send personally hand them over to a recruiter for them. You know, just to make sure they didn't get 'lost' somewhere.

But somehow we have got to get passed the simplistic talking points being put out there in the media so that real dialog can occur.

The number of of American Muslims that believe suicide bombing is sometimes justifiable is on page 60 of downloadable PDF report it goes like this 26% of Muslims under 30 and 9% of Muslims over 30 averaging out to about 13% overall
