Debra Palfrey dishes at Georgetown luncheon...

The subject may have been sex and Washington, but the only steam generated by lunch with the capital's most notorious escort service owner came from the pasta primavera.

Not for lack of trying by Q and A moderator Carol Joynt, who worked in vain to get some dish about the men behind the numbers on Deborah Jeane Palfrey's voluminous phone bills

-snip-

She then broached vocabulary: Was Palfrey's a "social escort service" or an "adult escort service"?

"Oh, no," Palfrey replied, her voice drenched in disdain. "They were definitely adult." A "social," she said, simply escorts someone to the Kennedy Center.

"Like what the Honor Guard does for the White House," Joynt said, somewhat naughtily. The room giggled. Palfrey gave a blank look, then said she'd worked in Washington for 13 years -- "no arrests, no problems."

"Wow!" Joynt said. "So you went through two different administrations." Pause. "What's the difference?"

"Let's not go into that!" interjected Palfrey's civil attorney, Montgomery Blair Sibley, looming like a hall monitor over the afternoon's exchange
