Michele Bachmann Not Named To GOP Transition Team, But Rival Jeb Hensarling Is
The Huffington Post | Nick Wing First Posted: 11- 8-10 11:28 AM | Updated: 11- 8-10 11:59 AM

Rep. Michele Bachmann's (R-Minn.) leadership aspirations appeared to have cold water thrown on them Monday when news broke that she had been passed over for a spot on the GOP's post-election transition team. To compound the matter, Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas,) her primary competition for the desirable conference chair position, was brought on to the crew.

-snip-

It's just the latest wrinkle in a GOP leadership dispute that has pitted establishment Republicans against the new wave of conservative energy.

Bachmann announced last week that she would be throwing her name in the hat for the title of GOP Conference Chair, which is soon to be the party's fourth most powerful post.

-snip-

With this latest public and repressive snub of one of the House's most outspoken symbols of fresh, anti-establishment, Tea Party influence, this is either a sign of a potentially divisive and growing rift between two schools of conservative power, or at the least, a blow that will necessitate some mending to keep the relationship between various ranks of Republicans and their constituents from scarring too deeply.

1. Big deal - Jeb Hensarling got his job because he was a Bush mouthpiece
Corporatist or teabagger? Gee, decisions, decisions...

5. To us, this is poisoning with lye or ammonia
But it is certainly revealing about what the Republican powers that be perceive as where they should invest their energy, and what they want their public face to be. And it isn't Michele "Crazy Eyes" Bachmann. If the Tea Baggers really think they're setting the political narrative or that they've co-opted the Republican party, they should take a good long look at how the GOP treats their little darlings.

3. Rec. Interesting - It's possible the GOP may be trying to do some serious
legislating and finding that difficult when such a large part of their membership is morons.
She won't be the last to be pushed out, I am sure.

I bet she is highly pissed, too - she thought they took her seriously!

12. I think the GOP's problems are just beginning...they won - now they have to DO something
and they are not prepared for that.

"I want to see them fail!"

Pass the popcorn and pepper.

7. Hey, she's just trying to ride the wave sweeping the nation
you know, the wave of no ideas and fake, corporate-sponsored grassroots movements propped up by a bought-out media.

9. Mid-terms 2010: "Rise of the crazies"
Somewhere in the bowels of Congress, the next Speaker of the House is pulled off his tanning bed by his assistant...

Igor: “Mr. Boehner, Mr. Boehner! They’ve become self-aware. They can sense their own power! Michelle Bachmann wants to run for a leadership position. She and her crazies won’t go back underground! They won’t self-hibernate until the next election!

Boehner: “Well, flood the asylum before they escape. They’ll make the entire party look like a bunch of lunatics!

Igor: It’s too late, my master! They’ve already escaped the asylum. We cut off their supply of tea, we tried flooding the halls of Congress with blasts of real information to scare them away—not talking points sir, REAL information, but they’re impervious to it. They’re bent on taking over the entire party—maybe even the world!

Boehner: We’re doomed!

who's admiration she craves, is a source of boundless amusement to me. Hell, she dry-humped Bush's leg like a golden retriever in heat at one of his State of the Union speeches, and he wouldn't piss down her throat if her tonsils were on fire.
