Cops Are Wasting Time

I am watching COPS and they are doing reverse drug sting operations. Reverse Drug Stings are where the cops sell dope in order to flush out a drug area. If the cops are doing the operations to bust street suppliers, I do not have a problem with it. However, I have a major problem if the cops use it for the purpose to arrest people explicitly bust people for drugs that are consumed for personal recreational use.

The better method is community policing and find out who is selling in the area. Than, the cops set up a fake shipment of dope coming in and bust the suppliers when they try to buy the dope from their distributor. That is a better use of police resource than these reverse stings that are designed to target people who use drugs for recreational use.

1. yes, but that type of action requires planning and thought

in order to keep arrest numbers up, it's far easier to arrest the end user and leave out the cost of incarcerating them for 7 years.

His police chief, who was a proponent of non-militarized, community policing said that the TV show would never do any programs on his department, because why should he allow his screw ups to show up on national TV?

When I got back from Europe in '98. I began to see that show in a new light.

I asked myself, "Why are these cops just fucking with people for no apparent reason"? I didn't like the answer.

It was just another nail in the coffin on that meme that America is s "Free Country".

3. That's on my list of shows that caused me to get rid of the teevee.

Fascist assholes harassing hookers and pot heads, all the while thinking they are such brave heroes.

Only good thing about that piece of shit show is the intro and outro 'Bad Boys' by the great reggae band Inner Circle. If you ever get a chance to see them live, don't miss it.
