Ratigan has a couple of guests on who are laying it on the line re: Afghanistan.
One was the guy whose book was bought up by the Pentagon, Lt. Col Tony Shaffer (Operation Dark Heart) and Peter Galbraith, former high ranking American official in Afghanistan (he's the one who caused the stir when he indicated Karzai might be on drugs).

They're both essentially saying it's all for naught and the administration knows that full well. Our "success" there depends on having a reliable partner, and we don't have that in Karzai.

If you have a strategy that is NOT going to work, it makes no sense to pursue it, yet...

Check out the vid when it comes up on MSNBC's site. Info from two who are familiar with the situation, and food for thought.

1. I can't stand watching Ratigan. He thinks he is so hot and special when he is actually full of crap.

3. That's too bad because his guests had good information and viewpoints. It was
good to hear from those who have first-hand experience and understanding rather than the talking heads who generally try to tell us what is what.
