Man Bites 3-year old All Over To Teach a Lesson
Man bites 3-year-old all over to teach a lesson

Associated Press

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A man was charged with assault for allegedly biting his 3-year-old nephew all over his body to teach the toddler that biting people is wrong, police said.

Hector Pulido, 40, was arrested Tuesday after day-care workers discovered adult-size bite marks on the boy's chest, stomach, shoulder, back, thigh, leg and buttocks, police said.

The boy told officers his uncle had bitten him. When questioned, Pulido allegedly admitted that he did it "to teach him not to bite anyone," said Lt. James Viadero, a police spokesman.

Pulido was charged with assault and risk of injury to a minor. He was being held on $100,000 bond after a court appearance Wednesday. A message seeking comment was left with the public defender representing Pulido.

The toddler was evaluated at a hospital, and the state Department of Children and Families was notified.

2. Funny how we think that engaging in wrongful behavior somehow shows it's "wrong."
If that worked, the ONLY people enaging in wrongful behavior would be "teachers." No matter how abysmally STUPID, even 'good' people do it. (Insane!)

3. I recall an incident with an infant and a toddler, the toddler swatted
at the infant, and the mom grabs the toddler and says - her exact words "I'll teach you to hit that baby" then proceeded to hit the kid, and I thought..you sure ARE teaching the kid to hit the baby lady...you sure are!

4. the pediatrician told my mom to bite my sister to cure her of biting others...
mom did bite her, once, hard enough to make her cry and leave a mark, but did not break the skin. My mom started crying when my sister started crying, my other sister who was watching started to cry, and when my dad came home here were all the females crying!

Yes, it was mean. My sister didn't bite people anymore though.

5. Kids go through a stage.....
at 2-3 years of age when they do not have the words (literally) to express themselves and they bite when they are frustrated. There is not a lot you can do but separate the offender and try to teach empathy and give time outs.

My poor sweetie was the victim of a biter not once but several times. I didn't have words with the director until the second time (and the bite was deep). We ended up placing my daughter with an advanced group because she was a bit more mature and easy going. She was never a biter because she developed good communication skills early-helps to have parents that listen too.

I can see maybe one bite (not too hard) to show the child that biting hurts. Little kids at that age deal in the concrete. But bites all over is dumb and abusive. I hope he gets parenting classes before he has any. I don't think (or hope)he meant ill.

6. My sister used to bite HERSELF as a toddler
Other people too occasionally, but mostly her own forearm out of frustration. It was horrible... she'd leave these very obvious bite bruises all over her arms.

8. I never bit myself, but....
I did give myself a hickey or two on my upper arm. It was a short-lived habit my mother ended with a belt. :D

7. My daughter bit my son when she was about two.
He was just home from the hospital and I think she wanted to see if he was real.
