Thinking of being Green
For the first time I am seriously thinking of becoming a Green Party member. The problem is the Green Party is just too Green for me. They don't support Nuclear Energy and I do. I work for a power utility company and see Nuclear energy as the best way to reduce our carbon emission. They seem far more lock stop on issues especially on the environment. I don't think It's a good fit for me.

But I think the democratic party has been co-opted by corporate America and no longer shares my values or is not willing to stand up for those values.

All I can say is the dems better get off there asses and soon otherwise I'm staying home in '08.

1. No
go PDA. Greens can't even get ballot access in some states.

2. Maybe we should start something called the Democrat Party.
It's all about name recognition.

8. Welcome to DU
:hi:

I'm doubtful that the Greens will embrace Nuclear energy. But it would make my choice easier.

7. Fight Republicans
I can't figure out why people don't understand who is telling the lies that confuse the electorate that make the votes difficult for Democrats. If we don't figure out how to talk so red america can hear, we're going to face these problems on every issue facing us. Joining the Greens who only bash Dems isn't going to even confront the real problem, let alone solve it.

10. Seems self-obvious to me, too.
The solution isn't to give up and fragment into boutique politics while the Republican monolith is still intact...we need to vote better candidates who are more responsive to progressive/liberal goals. It will take time, probably 3, maybe 4 election cycles, but any other option is untenavble to me. This mess didn't start last month...it's going to take a lot of time before we can fix all of the problems that has taken decades to create.

11. I kind of like Edwards
But he voted for the War also. I guess I'm pretty skeptical at the moment of any democrat.

12. (shrug) I'm sure there are websites out there for non-Democrats....
... Especially those belonging to the singularly jackass Wholly Owned Subsidiary Of The Republican Party*.

* Aka "The Green Party".
