With all of the debate regarding the rich versus the poor.
Jesus was a Democrat.

Definition of a Democrat.

Matthew 25:31-46 (New International Version, ©2010)

The Sheep and the Goats
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

1. The 98% of Americans making less than 250K didn't directly
create the current inequity of power. We are not in a "class war" in America. We are in a "caste" system with 2% having all of the power. Unfortunately, you can call it whatever you wish, but, only
a smart class war waged by the 98% can lift us out of the terrible mess.

5. We most certainly are in a "class war"in America. The top 2% and their agents have

declared war on the bottom 98%. The bottom 98% now must move from being a class 'in itself' to a class 'for itself' (Lenin's phraseology loosely translated). Racism, sexism, homophobia, national chauvinism, religion -- all tactics the 2% and its enablers\agents use to prevent a class in itself from becoming a class for itself.

Edited for clarity.

7. We are on the same page. My comment that were were more in
a "caste" system situation rather than "war" because the rich seemed to have captured us without a real "war". But, it will take a real class war by the bottom 98% to get out.

I'm not a fan of communism and am not pushing that sort of ideology. In fact, I don't have a name in mind for what one would call the movement by the lower 98% to throw off the yoke put there by the rich.

Let's not waste any time arguing about names. Let's try to think constructively about how this situation could be changed.

3. No one lives up to this.
Even Democrats advocate for funding for the homeless, but they won't take one in or there would be no homeless.

4. Not true of everyone at all. Some do exactly that.
Also, I think there is also something about say, running secret prisons while claiming that faith which teaches the OP teachings, and then harping against gay people. I mean, torture and Gitmo and yet "well, I'm a Christian, and we are sanctified'.
There are degrees of hypocritical pretense. For sure. So yeah, not everyone opens the house to all, but also not everyone runs rendition programs while preaching Jesus, either. And it does seem that those who do are not really pleasing whom they preach.

6. Most everyone can be rated as degrees of failure in comparison to Jesus.
And there aren't so many homeless that 10% of true Christians in the population couldn't take care of the homeless.

8. 2%? Hell, take out the greasing of the top 20% and you end up with token tax cuts
and a few crumbs in wealth.

You take away the top 40% and you've got the majority with jack apple shit.

9. This only proves my point about benefits for the rich being the only "real" Republican agenda...
I hope the only point here is show the hypocrisy of the "Christian right", because I guarantee you that this collection won't be changing anyone's political party.

The only way that Republicans bring "Christians" under their 'tent' isn't by love of Christ, but by FEAR. Fear of Jews, gays, Muslims, blacks, etc. Unfortunately, that's a lot of who Democrats represent.

Republicans just want their money and votes - except for the money thrown at faith based groups (which is approved of by Obama as well as his supporters here) we still have abortion, torture, etc. etc.

I recall a story about James Dobson would call the White House and Bush (or Cheney) would groan and say something like, "what the hell does HE want?"

PS: If you want to meet some real atheists - check out the *very* right wing - the libertarians who never vote Democratic...
