The thing that strikes me about Boehner's crying compared to other politicians

There have been many cases of politicians crying. Muskie caring deeply about his wife and tearing up. Hillary said she fell in love with Bill when she saw him crying because he had compassion for the poor and sick. Obama cried when his Grandmother died. Bob Dole cried talking about his Dad. But notice when Boehner seems to tear up. It's usually tears that are "self centered". He cries because HE became Speaker of the House or when talking about working his way up. His tears tend to be more directed at his own personal gain rather than the loss of a loved one or from watching someone suffer in poverty. I get the impression he is extremely self centered and loves himself a little too much.

1. good point. what i'm struck by is how muskie, for example, was eviscerated by the media for crying,
while bonehead & beck get a pass, or worse, are lauded for their caring.

4. Thats a REALLY good point. I had a roommate who was alcoholic and constantly
cried like a baby! He would just completely break down talking about personal things. And yes, he is a big drinker!

15. GOP leader denies charge he’s out bar-hopping every night
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/06/msnbc-host-rep-boehner-hitting-bars-5-pm/

Boehner has a reputation among Washington insiders for his hard-partying ways, but public suggestions that Boehner might have a drinking problems have been a rarity. That's what makes MSNBC host Joe Scarborough's remarks about the Ohio Republican's bar-hopping habits worthy of notice.

"I hear it on the Hill, I'm sure you hear it on the Hill all the time, it's not reported," Scarborough told a guest from Politico on Wednesday's Morning Joe. "But so many Republicans tell me that this is a guy that is not the hardest worker in the world."

"After five o'clock, six o'clock at night he's disengaged -- at best," Scarborough continued. "You can see him around town. He does not have, let's say, the work hours of Newt Gingrich. ... Every Republican I talk to says that John Boehner, by five or six at night, you can see him at bars."

13. Think Of What Bill Clinton Could Do With Boner's Constant Crying Jags.

If Clinton were still president, he'd have already started a devastating whisper campaign that would have left Boehner an impotent, empty shell. But Obama won't say a word about it, and Boehner will continue leading this country farther into a right wing cesspool. This is what you get when you've got a president who values concessions and playing by the rules, over making ugly but necessary political decisions which preserve us. Christ, we are in trouble......

24. I totally agree. It is as if he hates poverty so much and loves the rich and powerful man he became.
He loves the American dream he lived. But what about those people who are not going to start a company and become rich? Do they deserve tears? Or any legislation?

25. I think a lot of these Boner types think God loves them and has blessed them
and if you are poor it's because you are inferior. Not deserving of a life boat on the Titanic. Funny how all of the teachings of Jesus say exactly the opposite. It's the wealthy people who are supposed to have a hard time getting into heaven. They always seem to forget about those parts of the Bible. Jesus would not have been hanging around with Boner but with the people Boner has forgotten about.

I watched the 60 min interview last night and that's exactly what he did. He also teared up when his wife said she was proud of him. Another egocentric issue
