Prince: 'The Internet's Completely Over'
Edited on Sun Dec-12-10 09:35 PM by DainBramaged
The Internet: Prince is completely over

(I never stop getting a kick out of that headline)

"Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you."

1. Ah, the voice of Jehovah's Witnesses speaketh!
"Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you."

"All those numbers" have filled Prince's worldly store of riches pretty well. The Blessed One must be masturbating with a copy of Modern Luddite magazine.

6. Well, at least he's back to calling himself Prince, and not "Unpronounceable Glyph."
Got real mixed feelings about Mr. Nelson.

On one hand, he tore up "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at the R&R Hall of fame the year George Harrison was inducted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifp_SVrlurY :-)

One the other, he writes songs about boning his sister. :-(

Then again, he recorded "1999" and "Purple Rain," STILL two of the greatest funk-soul albums of all time. :-)

But, in all fairness, he says ridiculously stupid things like the ones found in that HuffPo article. :-(

I believe that the Internet could very well morph into something else, somewhere in the future, but for it...and digital music...to just take a powder because the Purple One thinks they;re passe? Not likely.

10. I guessed he did that becuase of label trap.
But latter heard he did it because the record label had a requirement for him to have a name to be under contract.

So it was to get out of label trap either way.

11. 1) Oil demand outstrips supply 2) Energy cost goes through the roof 3) Only the rich have Internet
So for us common folk the Internet soon will be over.

12. Prince? Boy, I haven't heard that name in a while. He's still alive?
Where is he now, like, in an old folk's home or something?

I think it's great he still has the energy to do interviews.

God love him.

19. Went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last month
and while watching the multimedia presentation about the inductees (by year) I audibly groaned when his name flashed across the screen. As soon as I saw his skinny nekked ass on an early album cover, I've never liked him.

16. Try to catch Kevin Smith's description of working for Prince
Prince lives in a bubble, surrounded by syncophants. He's got no clue about the outside world. I'm surprised Kevin put up with his shit for more than 5 minutes.

23. Sounds like he completely missed the boat.....and is still trying to save some face.
Isn't working. What a dumbass.

It's funny cause he's such an amazing musician, that he has absolutely no vision whatsoever about society and technology and the world around him. Maybe that's why he hasn't had a good album in years, he just doesn't understand the world anymore and can't relate.
