Anyone who still sees government as our last bulwark against privilege and power is aghast at Obama's tax deal
If Democrats agree to the tax plan just negotiated by the White House with Republican leaders, they’ll face a “why-should-I-get-up-out-of-my-chair” gap that will make 2010’s Dem enthusiasm seem like a pep rally by comparison.
Blame the base when they lose in the next election.
How did the GOP grassroots respond? They started to run primary candidates they believed would be more responsive to their needs.
We ought to get started RIGHT AWAY and make a list of who needs to be "primaried". We need the lead time for fundraising and organizing, and the sooner we get started the sooner the bastards abusing their positions in DC will start paying attention.
but I think Citizens United has destroyed whatever illusion we ever had that our votes counted for anything. Personally,I can't afford to buy a politician.
