Just Assume Nothing We Do is Private: "McDonald's customer database hacked"
Whatever great things the internet is capable of doing to enhance our perspective and intellect, we must simply accept that nothing we do online is private--not even patronizing a fast food outlet.

I wish I could think of some way that we consumers could bolster our power to say "no" to misuse of our private information online, or to deter the constant advertisements that make many websites insufferable.

We need to give consideration to how much we are willing to give up (for our own sanity) to enjoy the so-called benefits of being online. There are many things I LOVE about the internet, but more and more I find myself shutting the computer off due to the onslaught of spam and advertisements.
