1. This is very exciting

Have you all seen the movie "Who killed the electric car?" I watched it a few weeks ago and it actually inspired me to go out and buy a new Civic Hybrid. I sure hope this technology push keeps coming and we can soon have plug-in hybrids that get ~150-200mpg.

2. I have seen it - good for you about the Civic! Are you familiar with Tesla

Motors? They have an all-battery roadster which HOPEFULLY will hit the streets next year.

It's high performance -- 0 to 60 in 4 seconds! -- and really pricey. But their plan is to sell these high cost, high profile roadsters and use the revenue to introduce a more affordable family sedan, then an "economy" model. I like their business plan and their marketing plan to come in with a big splash.

George Clooney (and others, but don't recall who) are on the waiting list.

3. Yeah

They definitely mentioned Tesla along with a few other companies trying to accomplish the all-electric goal. Once they can bring the price down it will be really nice. I'm pretty happy with my Civic, I get about 40-45mpg, and in my part of Colorado that is pretty decent since there are so many hills everywhere to climb in town.
