Well - I guess Obama won't be giving Jill any more hot kisses...
Did you hear the news?

KO is reporting it right now.. (altho we already knew this)
while taping for the Oprah show, Jill Biden blurted out that Joe was offered his choice of
VP or SoS. Now it is the hot gossip of the day.

Personally, I don't think it's any big deal, I just don't know if nodrama Obama wants people talking about gossip today while he is trying so hard to portray a new promise for America.

And, I will add....I'm still baffled. I wanted Joe for SoS. Oh well - he didn't ask me.

2. Tweety is having tingles again over this story.
They are trying to make it a story about Hillary, and how this says that Hillary was not Obama's first choice to be Sos.

To me, all it says it that Obama has a heckuva lot of respect for Joe Biden :)

3. I don't get what the big deal is
I know I'd heard that before. I think it was an interview with Joe.

4. Tweety has backed off a little.
The msm is just all hot and bothered because of the Hillary angle.

I feel sorry for Jill. This is the first time she has gotten any real media attention.
She was just trying to say that between the two positions, she wanted Joe to be VP because he would be home. You can't blame her for wanting him home.

5. Well
If it was a mistake, it was her first as far I've seen.

6. I think so too,
and Joe said if he were VP, he'd like certain conditions, right?

7. Yeah
It was a very candid interview and the first one where he spoke a great deal about the process of becoming the VP choice.

9. Hopefully
there will be a clip available soon. They were so beautiful and Joe's mom was in the audience.

10. Here's what was in the New Yorker in October 2008
http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/10/20/081020fa_fact_lizza?currentPage=all

Obama also asked Biden whether he thought that he was more suited to a different position. “He said, ‘You have a great interest in national-security policy, foreign policy,’ ” Biden told me. “He wasn’t offering me this, but he said, ‘Would you rather be Secretary of State instead of Vice-President?’ And I thought a lot about that.”

Biden consulted with his closest political advisers, including Ted Kaufman, Mike Donilon, and John Marttila, all of whom have been with him since the early days of his career. “They convinced me that I could have more influence on policy as a Vice-President with Barack,” Biden said. “And so the bottom line of all of this is that I said, ‘Barack, look, if you’re going to ask me to do this, please don’t ask me for any reason other than that you respect my judgment. If you’re asking me to join you to help govern, and not just help you get elected, then I’m interested. If you’re asking me to help you get elected, I can do that other ways, but I don’t want to be a Vice-President who is not part of the major decisions you make.’ ”
