I never thought Boxer would need any help, especially against someone like Fiorina (yuck). CA politics can get so weird.

4. If I were Boxer I'd just have former HP employees talking about outsourcing their

jobs, etc., and use those as my campaign spots. Isn't Fiorina running on a "let's get jobs" ticket?

And, I'd use the headlines from the news about how god-awful Fiorina was.

Do these people not pay the least bit of attention?

I heard on Thom Hartmann this morning that a friend of his, an economist, wrote a book called The New Golden Age, and it's essentially that everything will go to hell, then we'll come to our senses and begin again. He said that's what happened during FDR's admin and (I think) Teddy Roosevelt's. I've been saying that for a long time, we are so far over the edge we can't keep putting band aids on here and there. The problems are systemic and we need to kill the virus. That's why I voted for Perot (I know) but I was willing to have the rug pulled out from under us so we could get our shit together and begin doing what was right. And that was all those years ago! Don't know what would have happened, but we probably wouldn't have had NAFTA.

Think I'm going to get that book. I'm depressed already.

that Fiorina would be easy to beat, but the voters have gotten so weird these days, I don't know anymore. I felt that everything was going to go to hell and hopefully people would wake up, but evidently it hasn't gotten bad enough yet.

Know what you mean about being depressed, plus a lot of people are still shell-shocked from the eight years of Bush.

I totally agree with you. I am so sick of all the pussy-footing around the problems, we are not accomplishing much of anything. If only that stimulus was spent on nothing but infrastructure and green jobs, we might be in a better place right now. FDR - where are you???

Perot who isn't a politician, or somebody from the old days (FDR) are willing to do what it takes. It would be a horrendous shake up and not sure they would want to put their careers at risk. There are a FEW who might, though, and Joe leads the list in my mind.

right now. But when it comes to the Senate - he may have caved to rw demands, just as Obama has.

13. I don't think Joe would have "caved" like Obama has. I think Obama just wants

us to 'all get along' and want's to SHOW he's trying to be bipartisan. Joe knows better and understands you have to give a little to get a little. I think Joe would have gotten more cooperation from the Reps since he's known so many of them for so long and he knows how to work it.
