I have no idea what is going on in the world
and I kinda like it that way. I am in my little massage school cocoon at present. Didn't even know about this stupid egg recall until I was in the grocery store Saturday. (Doesn't affect me anyhow, I buy only organic eggs.)

Hope you ALL are well, I am done in 3 weeks, with my massage program, then it's study, study for national exam (which I hear is HARD!) :-/

1. Damn it
I responded to your post yesterday, but it didn't take.

Good luck on your exam. I have an old friend who switched careers a number of years ago. She went into massage and absolutely loves it.

As for the eggs, I'm appalled that we are selling eggs in California that are shipped 2000 miles from Iowa. I know we have chickens in California. Still trying to figure out why we sell Florida oranges and Florida OJ here. Once my daughter bought some garlic and later found out it was from China - we live within driving distance from the garlic capital of the country! Insane.

5. I have no idea
It is so bizarre to me. Northern California is considered a "bread basket" and pretty much everything is grown within a 50 mile radius. I don't understand the logic of shipping a food item thousands of miles when it is available locally.

10. Hey Pat, I got some garlic from China once too!
It was in a little mesh bag with "Product of China" on the label. If they had sold them bulk I would never have known. I also assume that unless I'm buying organic, anything with corn & soy is GMO. :banghead:

Our government has been taken over by the corps.

I highly recommend King Corn. Netflix has it. Great movie. http://www.kingcorn.net/

9. Being in a cocoon is kind of nice, isn't it?
I just posted this: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=404x33138#33162 The last time I felt like this about politics, I didn't vote for 20 years.

We had chickens when I was a kid. They are delightful creatures. Too bad the way we treat them.

What's the exam like? Is it just written or hands-on too? I would love to be an evaluator of that exam! ;)
