His US sentence served, Noriega fights extradition
By CURT ANDERSON – 3 hours ago

MIAMI (AP) — As the only prisoner of war held on U.S. soil, inmate No. 38699-079 gets annual visits from the Red Cross and can wear his military uniform and insignia when he goes to court.

Gen. Manuel Antonio Noriega frequently sees his wife and children, who make the trip to his private bungalow at a federal prison near Miami from their home in Panama. The one-time CIA operative is a dedicated news junkie, reads voraciously about history and politics and is working on a memoir ...

More than a year ago, Noriega completed his sentence for drug racketeering and money laundering and thought he was headed home. Instead, U.S. officials dropped a legal bomb: Noriega would be extradited to France to stand trial on more money laundering charges.

On Jan. 14, a federal appeals court will hear arguments on Noriega's claim that as a POW he should immediately be repatriated, 19 years after the U.S. invaded Panama to remove him from power ...

Noriega was a CIA asset who decided to separate himself from his handlers

1. You've probably seen the documentary, "The Panama Deception."
In case you haven't, this Academy Award winner for documentaries, narrarated by Elizabeth Montgomery will be something you will want to watch, and probably watch again. I've seen it several times.

We were taught almost NOTHING about what George H. W. Bush did to that country with his brutal invasion. This documentary goes the distance in providing so much missing information to fill in so many holes in our official version of what the holy hell happened, REALLY.

That bastard has nothing to be proud of in what he did to Panamanians. What a vile piece of garbage that ugly old man is.
But hey, I shouldn't blow smoke up his exhaust pipe. He has his faults, too, just like everyone else.

The Panama Deception one hour 31 minutes

It's very odd seeing what happens to old CIA assets, isn't it? Apparently they don't get the chance to stop serving US interests first and foremost for the rest of their lives, and if they resist, they are lucky if they get thrown in jail. It does seem far worse is easy to accomplish regarding these people.

Remember what they did to his predecessor, Omar Torrijos, too. That guy didn't make it to a jail cell.
