She didn't just have notes on her hand - SHE WAS READING FROM A PREPARED TEXT!
Lost in all of the discussion about Sarah Palin's Senor Wences performance is that her little hand notes were obviously just to help her out in the "Q&A" session. Before that, she was reading her speech from a prepared text on the sheath of papers she took with her to the podium.

So, to those who are trying to claim that a couple of notes jotted down in one's palm is no big deal and pales in comparison to reading from a teleprompter, how do you argue it is not pure hypocrisy (not to mention outrigh guffaw-provoking irony) to use a written speech to attack a person for reading a written speech?

2. I thought the criticism was Obama never speaks extemporaneously, not that he uses one in a speech.

3. I didn't see a teleprompter when Obama took on the repugs and shamed them.

Her head was bobbing like a bobber on a fishing pole...several times she even lost her place you could always tell, she would touch the papger..I told my hubby and he agreed that is what she was doing. I didn't counn but it seemed like it was every third or forth sentence she would do this.

5. She had the speech in her hand when she came onstage and regularly turned the pages as she spoke
It was clear as day that she was reading from a prepared text, yet the media seems to have completely missed that.

7. Actually, Keith Olbermann pointed that out
and said that was one thing (although it's stupid to then criticize Obama for using a teleprompter), but it was pretty incredible that in a simple Q&A session she couldn't memorize the key points she wanted to hit.

6. She is reading just like the TV newsreaders
She was so set on being a sports newsreader that she even named a child after ESPN's headquarter city, Bristol CON. On second thought maybe is was after the NASCAR track in Bristol TN.

9. Not me.
I honestly have a higher regard for the majority of people in this country! There may be a "minority" that would vote for her, but the "majority" are much smarter than you give them credit for!

13. Good for you
It's amazing how, once they all chase after the same bone, they totally miss other obvious details - and then sit quietly as irresponsible pundits and commentators base their spurious arguments on the misinformation:

Clueless reporter: Isn't it a little bit hypocritical for Sarah Palin to criticize President Obama for using a teleprompter when she is using notes she wrote on her hand?

Irresponsible Pundit: Oh, come on, Steve (Chuck, Andrea, Heidi). There's a big difference between using a couple of notes - we all do that - and reading an entire speech off of a teleprompter.

Clueless Reporter: Duh. I guess you're right. Hadn't thought of that. Thanks for being our guest today . . .

What a REAL journalist would say:

Real Journalist: Oh, come on nothing, IP. There may be a big difference between a couple of little notes on her hand and a speech on a teleprompter. But there's NO difference between reading a speech that was printed out on white paper and reading a speech that was fed into a teleprompter.

So, I ask you again, IP. Isn't it hypocritical for Sarah Palin to criticize President Obama for reading from a teleprompter when she not only reads from a prepared text, too, but also relies on crib notes to remember what her top issues are?
